With the student senate campaigns in full swing and Election Day quickly approaching, many students may find themselves asking, “Why should I care about student senate? How does the outcome of this election impact my experience at KU?”
The answer: there is a plan already in the working to enhance your entire college experience. Through sensible and innovative solutions, United Students will address issues of campus security by increasing lighting and the number of security cameras on and off campus. Frequently annoyed by the campus parking situation? United Students proposes to open the Kansas Union Parking Garage to ALL students after 5 pm. Do you want wireless internet in the residence halls? United Students has already collaborated with the KU IT department on a project that will expand wireless internet to student residence halls, and it’s going to happen WITHOUT raising student fees.
If you want sensible solutions to problems that affect every KU student, and if you want a coalition whose members represent the entire student body, not just select groups, United Students is for you. Through positive campaigning, experienced leadership, and solutions already in the workings, you can expect to see tangible changes in your university experience.
