Kansas volleyball's Gabby Simpson and basketball's Dedric Lawson earned athlete of the week honors for Nov. 27.

Dedric Lawson | Men’s Basketball

After recording back-to-back double-doubles against Marquette and then-No. 5 Tennessee in the NIT Season Tip-Off, redshirt junior forward Dedric Lawson earned both Big 12 Player of the Week and tournament MVP honors. After this past week’s performance, Lawson is now the only player in the Big 12 conference to be averaging a double-double. Posting a combined 50 points, 25 rebounds and eight assists, Lawson led the way for the Jayhawks to a fourth NIT Season Tip-Off title.

Gabby Simpson | Volleyball

In her 14th match this season with over 20 assists, senior setter and right-side hitter Gabby Simpson recorded 29 assists in a 3-2 senior day loss to Oklahoma. In her final outing in the crimson and blue, Simpson additionally boasted 11 digs against the Sooners, surpassing the 850-career dig mark with 852 in her time as a Jayhawk. After tallying a team-leading 558 assists in her senior campaign, Simpson earned All-Big 12 second team honors on Monday.
