The Kansas volleyball team has continued to rocket up the AVCA polls. Last week, the Jayhawks were ranked No. 15. This week, they're up to No. 12 — the highest rank in team history.
Only five teams that are ranked in the AVCA Top 25 are undefeated, including Kansas.
|No. 1||Penn State||13-0|
|No. 2||Southern California||14-0|
|No. 6||Arizona State||13-0|
Kansas and No. 3 Texas (12-1) are the only two teams in the Big 12 that are ranked. Iowa State received three votes.
There are a few matches in between when Kansas plays Texas. The Jayhawks and the Longhorns face off on Oct. 23 in Austin and on Nov. 11 in Lawrence.
Because of Texas' one loss, Kansas sits at the top of the Big 12 standings.
|Big 12 Rank||Team||Big 12 Record||Overall Record|
|No. 3||Iowa State||1-0||8-4|
|No. 4||Texas Tech||1-1||12-4|
|No. 5||Kansas State||1-1||9-5|
|No. 8||West Virginia||0-1||5-8|

How much longer will Kansas continue its win streak?
Up next for Kansas is West Virginia on Oct. 3 in Lawrence. The Mountaineers are 5-8 and are ranked second-to-last in the Big 12. It's very probable that the Jayhawks come away with the win in that match.
After West Virginia, Kansas heads to Lubbock, Texas, to take on Texas Tech on Oct. 7. The Red Raiders are 12-4 and sit at No. 4 in the Big 12 standings.
Could Kansas lose to Texas Tech?
Yes, but Kansas has faced higher ranked teams on the road and fared well. Wyoming is ranked No. 25 this week and Kansas won in Wyoming in three sets during the nonconference slate of the season.
After the first Texas Tech match, this is how the rest of Kansas' schedule pans out:
|Oct. 10||vs. Iowa State|
|Oct. 14||at Baylor|
|Oct. 21||vs. Oklahoma|
|Oct. 23||at Texas|
|Oct. 28||at Iowa State|
|Oct. 31||vs. Baylor|
|Nov. 7||at Oklahoma|
|Nov. 11||vs. Texas|
|Nov. 14||vs. TCU|
|Nov. 21||at West Virginia|
|Nov. 25||at Kansas State|
|Nov. 28||Texas Tech|
Will Kansas lose this season?
Most likely. I think Kansas may drop one of the Texas matches. But this season is dubbed as "unprecedented" by KU Athletics, and, with that, anything is possible.
