Former KU football linebacker Kenny Bastida was arrested Wednesday, May 15 around 4 a.m.

Former Kansas football player Kenny Bastida was arrested early Wednesday morning on suspicion of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and criminal damage to property. The arrest occurred at Stouffer Place Apartments shortly before 4 a.m.

According to a police report, a 19-year-old woman reported that around 3 a.m., the suspect pointed a gun at her following a physical altercation. The victim is not a student at the University.

Although Bastida was listed on the Kansas Football roster through the spring, Associate Athletics Director Jim Marchiony said Bastida has not been on the roster since last month.

Bastida appeared in four games for the football team before receiving a redshirt during the 2018 season.

Bastida was also charged with possession of marijuana during the arrest.

The incident occurred at Stouffer Place Apartments, where Bastida lives.
