Last week, Kansas volleyball improved to 18-0 on the season, continuing its undefeated streak to start the year. The most recent AVCA poll recognized those continued efforts, bumping Kansas up to No. 7 in the latest poll.
The Jayhawks were ranked No. 9 last week, which was previously their highest ranking in program history. Before this season, the highest ranking Kansas had received in the AVCA was No. 17.
The Jayhawks won a match in four sets against the Baylor Bears last Wednesday. Kansas is just one of two undefeated teams in Division I volleyball. The only other team, USC, is ranked No. 1 this week with a 20-0 record.
This week is Kansas' toughest of the season as it hosts Oklahoma on Wednesday and goes to No. 2 Texas on Friday. Kansas and Texas lead the pack in the Big 12 and are the only two ranked teams in the conference.
The match begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Horejsi Family Athletics Center.
