Classic film for the Classics Club: Students watch ‘Jason and the Argonauts,’ a 1963 film depicting ancient Greek myth, during a presentation put on by the KU Classics Club earlier this month. The Classics Club was founded this semester and is just one of more than 480 registered student organizations on campus.

Historic housing: When Josh Schoenfelder, 2008 graduate, moved out of this house in July, he found a box of artifacts dating back to the early 1900s, including love letters and bank statements. The items belonged to a former owner of the house, who moved there in 1919.

Black bubble cameras and a system of concave mirrors are popular implements used in stores to deter shoplifting. Matt Reineman, a securities and IT specialist at Weaver's Department store on Massachusetts Street said the store had seen an increase in shoplifting do to the economic recession.

20 lockers in both the mens and womens locker rooms at Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center are available for rent for $20 a piece. While locks are not supplied, the reserved lockers do offer safety for belongings.

Tiago Schaffrath, a senior from Brazil, spent his summer in Nicaragua studying a group of indigenous people known as the Rama. The Rama people, indigenous to Rama Cay, a small island on the eastern coast have been dealing with inadequate quality of living due to the political corruption of the country. Tiago says that his hope is to return to Nicaragua and bring resources and funding to benefit the region.
