Chance Dibben is a senior from Wichita majoring in English, film, Japanese and photomedia. This is his second semester at The Kansan as a photographer and as a film reviewer. Chance is interested in music/arts journalism as well as social documentary. After graduation he hopes to work as a videojournalist for a major newspaper and/or operate his own Web site in which he would post non-fiction photo/video essays.

Karen Pendleton remarked that while she "agrees with a lot of what the movies are saying," the documentary Food Inc. didn't surprise her. Pendleton points to the logistics of feeding large communities, something small local farms like hers cannot handle. "I'm a big proponent of local, but I'm not a propoent of smashing large industry," Pendleton said.

Celeste McCoy, Wichita sophomore, trades KU alum Don Haug an empty recycling bag for his full one Saturday afternoon. McCoy was part of a larger effort that included members of KU Environs, Students for Bar Recycling and Cans for Community, who collected bottles and cans from tailgaters and parties during the football game between Kansas and Nebraska.
