Kelly grew up in Salina, but his family moved to Sedgwick a few years ago. He got interested in journalism his senior year of high school when he interned for a media group in Salina, and he also worked on a public access sports talk show. This is his fourth semester writing for The University Daily Kansan, and he has also anchored sports on KUJH-TV News for two semesters. Kelly also has a blog on Kansan.com about the enthralling world of entertainment. He enjoys all sports, especially baseball, but says he was never a great athlete in high school, so writing about sports is good enough for him. He is also working on an English minor because he'd like to eventually write a book.
