Kelsey Richardson is a senior from Lawrence majoring in News and Information with a minor in French. This is her second semester with The Kansan. Last semester she worked as a photographer and this semester she is a web reporter. In October of 2010, Kelsey attended the Rich Clarkson Fall Photography at the Summit workshop in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where she worked with photographers from National Geographic and Sports Illustrated. After graduation, Kelsey hopes to pursue a career in photojournalism or French language. When Kelsey is not working for The Kansan, she teaches gymnastics classes for Lawrence Parks and Recreation.

Life Star flight paramedic Mark Larson shows where a patient lays inside of the helicopter. Life Star of Kansas has one helicopter it uses for medical emergencies. It has been serving Kansas since 1988.

The Bioscience and Technology Business Center is one of KU's latest additions to West Campus. The 20,000-square-foot building was completed in mid-June and houses a state-of-the-art wet lab facility, start-up companies related to KU research, and other new technology businesses.

The new School of Pharmacy building will allow students access to the newest techniques in pharmacy. It will be staffed with students and professionals, which will help to increase the number of pharmacists in Kansas.

KU's new School of Pharmacy will allow the school to increase its enrollment from 105 to 150 students. It will house a pharmacy museum, as well as a cafeteria for pharmacy students. The pharmacy is also home to a robot that fills prescriptions.

KU School of Pharmacy has a new building on West Campus. It will house an extension of the drug information center at the KU Medical Center. All pharmacy students are required to spend four weeks at the center as part of the program.

The Bioscience and Technology Business center on West Campus is strategically located near several major KU research buildings, including the new School of Pharmacy building. Along with laboratory space, the Bioscience and Technology business center also houses offices, and provides multiple tenants with business development services.
