Rachael Gray

Rachael is a senior in Spanish language and print journalism. She is currently a photographer and multimedia producer for The Kansan. Gray also works for the campus radio station, KJHK, as the live events director. This is her third year with KJHK and second semester with The Kansan.

The performance was part of SU and KJHK's Tunes at Noon and celebrated the end of Pride Week. This year, SUA organizers plan to cut back on some programs.

Students from the theater, music and dance departments combine to present Tree of Life, a Creative Campus project.  The production explores the phenomenon of evolution through the stages of life and genetic connectedness.

Jaclyn Frankenberg, Leawood, senior, said she doesn't mind that her landlord put up election signs in the yard of the property that she rents. According to the city code, renters have to have their landlord's permission to put up signs, but the landlords do not need the permission of the renters.

Police, medical workers and firemen responded to a fire Friday afternoon at 1946 Clifton. One person was injured in the fire that completely destroyed the house. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Koga Moffor, Overland Park senior, Cali Gilman, Olathe alumna, and Brittany Barney, Paola sophomore, rehearse Tuesday for the Multicultural Theatre Initiative's production of "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf." The play runs Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon at the Lawrence Arts Center.

Nancy Hoch, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, senior, Student Union Activities and Kansas Memorial Unions helped put together the first International Film Festival at the University of Kansas. Students submitted short films for the festival, which runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Awards will be given out to the students for first, second and third place.
