Ryan is the senior photographer and crime reporter this semester. Ryan has also photographed for the Lawrence Journal-World and the Standard-Examiner in Ogden, Utah. After graduating from Wichita High School Southeast in 1993 and attending Butler County Community College for two years, he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1996. In 2003, he left the service and completed a bachelor's degree in political science at the University of South Florida in Tampa. In 2006, Ryan and his wife Sarah moved to Lawrence, where Ryan is currently working towards completion of a Masters degree in Journalism and Mass Communications.
