Jenkins defeats Boyda for U.S. House seat

Lynn Jenkins, Kansas State Treasurer, upset incumbent candidate U.S. Rep. Nancy Boyda (D-Kan.) in Tuesday’s election for Kansas’ 2nd congressional district. Jenkins won 51 percent to Boyda’s 46 percent.

Sachiko is a senior from Tokyo, Japan. This is her second semester to report for The University Daily Kansan. Sachiko likes traveling. She has also lived in Shanghai, China. She hopes to be a foreign correspondent after graduation.
