"pencer is a Senior from Leawood, majoring in photomedia through the School of Architecture and Design. His interest is mostly in photojournalism, but also enjoys studio work. Currently he is working on a multimedia project that will give student musicians a chance to connect and share The Kansan's online stage.

Chestnut talked about the level of professionalism of Lawrence's council and claimed that the residents "tax dollars are being well spent here."

"I am very proud," he voiced, "to be able to use my gift, my craft, my skill, to be active." Chris Redford, a graduate student from Wellington, won a video contest and $10,000 from Project Reason, a non-profit secular website, for a video that argued for changes to the U.S. symbols such as "One Nation Under God" and religious images on currency to include Atheists. Redford is a member of the Society of Open Minded Atheists and Agnostics at KU.
