Travis, an Austin, Texas, senior, has worked on the Kansan since the spring of 2005. He's been a sports reporter, news reporter, correspondent editor, copy editor, sports columnist, and sports editor. He was a Dow Jones Scholar and received and internship in the summer of 2007 at the St. Paul Pioneer Press as a sports copy editor. He just won a Hearst Award for his column "Rivalry shirts get uglier" by placing third nationally out of all editorials. He plans to graduate in May and pursue a career in the newspaper industry.
