Bill Self, Robert Hemenway, and Lew Perkins hold a press conference Thursday, April 10, 2008 and announce Self's commitment to KU Basketball for the next few years.

Kansas basketball fans can finally relax. Bill Self isn't going anywhere. At a 4:30 p.m. press conference at Hadl Auditorium, Self sat with Chancellor Hemenway and Athletics Director Lew Perkins and said that he listened to offers from Oklahoma State, but he'll be staying at Kansas.

"I'm pleased and proud to announce that Bill Self will be our basketball coach for a long time," Hemenway said. "Bill self is exactly the right person for Kansas basketball."

Perkins said details of Self's new contract will be announced at a later date. But Self did admit that he will be getting a extension and a raise.

The announcement comes three days after Kansas won its third NCAA championship in school history.
