The Associated Press reports that John Edwards, former North Carolina senator, and Rudy Giuliani, former New York City mayor, have decided to abandon their candidacies in the 2008 presidential race.

Neither candidate won a primary. Giuliani, a one-time front runner for the Republican nomination, will endorse Arizona Senator John McCain during the remaining Republican primaries, while Edwards has yet to say whom he would endorse in the Democratic race, which is essentially between New York Senator Hillary Clinton and Illinois Senator Barack Obama.
