Video Free for All: Students get about 30 seconds to speak what's on their minds.

Episode two of a weekly video podcast: Kansan staff members record these ditties every Wednesday around Wescoe Hall from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Students get about 30 seconds to say what they want to say. Next Wednesday's episode will be recorded in The Underground.

Until next Thursday's episode, students can visit The Kansan's Facebook app, say something clever and join the free for all. Comments might just appear in the next day's paper.

This was supposed to go on this page, but somehow landed up on the page for Episode One of Video Free-For-All. Whoops.

Why, after only two episodes of Video Free-For-All, is the same person featured twice? Was there no one else who had anything interesting to say?

I understand that the same person might get into Free-For-All several times in the same issue. But when a person's face is attached to it, they shouldn't be in two consecutive Video Free-For-All episodes unless there's a really compelling reason to do so. I don't think telling us about a new Nokia cell phone concept or some new energy drink is reason enough.

You film these in and around Wescoe, for goodness' sake - there are swarms of different people there.

Also, why only Wescoe? Some students never go to Wescoe; some (like the guy I mentioned above) must be there all the time, and we'll probably get sick of seeing them. Would it be that difficult to go to other locations on campus to hear from other students?

We went all over campus yesterday only to find that 95% of students were in a weather-induced funk with "nothing interesting to say." Next week should be better - we'll set up a table in the Underground at 12:30 p.m. After next week, we'll probably find new Video Free for All locations all around campus.

Please note - this is beta :)

Sounds good, I'd hate to see this isolated to one location. There is the fear of a pack mentality. Don't be afraid to talk about something important from time to time as well.
