Joseph: Gill wasn’t the best choice for Kansas

I think Gill definitely has a place in football (perhaps as a coordinator somewhere), but head coaching in a major conference probably isn't the place for him. I wonder if he could go more into nonprofit type stuff/mentoring, sort of like what Tony Dungy has done, because he could do a lot of good there.

Editorial: Students win in food cart decision

Let me guess, this same guy who doesn't want anybody competing against his business is also in favor of tax breaks for his business. It's okay to support pro-business policies as long as they're in your favor.

Passing out the grades

I think that Thomas Robinson should have at least received an honorable mention. He received very limited playing time, but his freshman year has some flashes of brilliancy - reminding me of Aldrich's freshman year, actually.

Goble: Montana coach shuns student media

The University of Montana's Athletic Director has defended Hauck. This is similar to when OSU coach Mike Gundy attacked his school's paper a few years back and the school defended him as well. Sadly, there is little financial incentive for a school to ever defend its student reporters when they're in conflict with coaches.

Editorial: Lighting will increase safety

This neighborhood has become rougher in the last few years, and especially given that there are two all girls dorms in the area, I think this lighting is a necessity. Kudos to Student Senate for taking this initiative.

Defense exposed in conference opener

Even Kansas State managed to hold Iowa State to 23 points. I'm terrified of what a fully healthy Sam Bradford will do to our secondary.

Editorial: Turning away victims unacceptable

Please. Do you think it's reasonable to expect somebody who has already been through a traumatic experience to drive all the way to Topeka or Kansas City (especially with gas prices being as high as they are), and before the relevant evidence has been cleaned up?

Kansas ‘outplayed’ by No. 14 Iowa State

One had to figure that Iowa State would have to be good in some sport at least. (other than wrestling)
