I disagree with Ms. Shannon's implication that Mr. Quisenberry's actions imply that Queers and Allies is a political group, because the event that Ryan Campbell invited everybody to IS a political protest. Mr. Campbell would be allowed to email everybody and inform them about a campus-wide event that wasn't politically charged that Q & A was hosting, but this is different because it's definitely a political event (and the email he sent clearly takes a side in Proposition 8.) Not everything that the groups Ms. Shannon mentioned in her article do has to be politically controversial (The Black Student Union?)

If I remember the reporting of the story correctly, I believe that Kansan editor Matt Erickson was the person who initiated the Kansan's campaign against the chant, not the athletics department, not the chancellor. Is it the Kansan's place to automatically disapprove of anything other university departments agree of? A free press can take either side of an issue.

He's a member of student Senate and as such I do respect what he has to say. And I agree with him! Homecoming is just for the greeks.
