"funslinger"? I've worked in a newsroom before but how did this get past the editors?

I also find that the cloth bags I bought (and use) hold more groceries than the plastic ones. The handles are also easier on my hands compared to plastic bags when they're weighed down with something heavy, like canned goods.

I just love how people who hated Clinton always bring up the BJ and yet they never point out that W went to war with Iraq for no legitimate reason other than to search for POSSIBLE WMD's. Or that he was on vacation and stayed on vacation (for another couple of days) when Katrina hit. Haliburton. And the $600 stimulus check? What a joke.
Let's not also forget Reaganomics, or Watergate. Clinton wasn't perfect, neither was JFK or Roosevelt but the same can be said for Nixon, Reagan, and W. "The kettle calling the pot 'black'..."
I'm not here to persuade anybody's point of view, I'm just stating my discontent in our current time of politics and people now voting for "the lesser of 2 evils..."

Nah, they're too busy trying to hype intelligent design while trying to fire the librarian for not censoring books that they personally think are offensive...
Oh wait, that's Sarah Palin.

I can't remember exactly how it works but there's a solar panel energy system on the west coast that heats oil up to 300 degrees in a system of pipes. The pipes then run through cold water to create steam, which push the turbines, etc. But if all we need is steam to work the whistle, and it's only on during the day, then why not create a cost-effective solution?
Besides, universities spend millions on effective strategic planning, something like this would be a step in the right direction.

I wonder if there's any chance some of the science students can figure out a green (and economical) way to create steam for the whistle.

This is why I miss the Kansan so much.

I just love it when people don't understand the point of this article... it's not about murder, it's about a satire. Perhaps if you disagree with the writer, you should write something equally satirical just to get your own kicks and giggles.

I think a lot of people are missing the point here.
What Miss. Gampper is trying to say is that we need to reduce the number of abortions by reducing the number of violent sexual crimes against women, increase access to proper health care, increase proper sex education, and bring our most at-risk/poverty stricken populations to a higher standard of living.
In other words: instead of screaming at each other until we're blue from hyperventilation, exhaustion, and anger we should look at all the social issues that contribute to people having abortions to prevent future abortions.
Now there's a novel idea - analyze, address, and resolve the causes instead of being angry at the effects.
