So you never actually attended college? Don't kid yourself, this is a college sports issue...not a comment on the prestige of the university. Heard any complaints about so and so wearing a much fizzou shirt at a debate bowl? Nope. What makes college sports so much fun is the passion, and yes the humor. Do you honestly think the type of hs student that would be watching a KU basketball game is going to see a kid with any of the mentioned shirts on and say "OMG...students there have shirts that say THAT?!? There is noway I'm going THERE."

You know I was thinking the same thing with just about every Champ week game I've been watching. A great example was the Duke-NC State game tonight (which Duke lost). I mean that was a BIG-TIME upset and it was positively silent at the end of that game.

Okay, so i agree with kbaxter's sentiment...BUT, as a KU grad this sucks on many levels. As most KU students would agree, I read (and still read) the Kansas everyday...and the fact that YEARS of content was lost makes me seriously wonder about the management of The Kansan. My concern beyond the restoration of the site is to identify what caused such a visible representation of the school that I love to make a mistake that makes the entire organization look like it's run by people with no common sense. I mean come on, who doesn't back up their database? Or more to the point, who doesn't make dam sure that the company who provides support for your server is backing up your data?

This mistake doesn't just reflect poorly on your host...as an outsider looking at this situation isn't going to say "man their host sucks"...they are going to laugh The Kansan staff.

The point is that I shouldn't have ANY added health risks or exposure to chemicals because of YOUR addiction. You have the right to smoke, but not to expose me to it.

Although the word 'ignorant' is used several times in this article, I fail to see was exactly was ignorant about the comment. It was a joke. In bad taste? Maybe. Your complaint, however, paints you in a negative light for having a hyper-sensitivity rather then making the free-for-all comment seem obscene.

Furthermore, what exactly is slanderous about the comment?

Perhaps if the administration had spent more time solving the problems in Iraq, instead of whining about a media bias towards bad news this situation wouldn't have spiraled into the current, seemingly hopeless, debacle of foreign relations.

The reason why the majority of coverage about Iraq is bad...is because the majority of THE NEWS is bad.
