while i understand the concern about a lifestyle/art article running lead in a paper, anyone who has worked on a newsroom staff knows that the story that has art leads. there are few exceptions to this principle. takes multiple people on staff to make art, photos, and multimedia happen for a story that may have been assigned a couple of days before it is supposed to run. the kansan is an award winning paper. it is also a student paper. let's not be so snobby that we can't applaud when young writers are getting the chance to hone their skills and develop their voice. remember, they are turning in THEIR homework to be read by a readership of at least 50,000 people. do you do that every week? come on guys... grow up.
