Thank you for writing this. I appreciate someone having the decency to stand up for what many people actually find to be quite annoying. It's amazing how the chant fades after halftime when many of the students leave. Can't we get a little more clever than yelling a chant that not even Coach Mangino nor the players can even hear?
It is true about ESPN not airing us due to the chant. It is also true that ESPN does not televise those with the MUCK FIZZOU t-shirts on. Don't believe that? Read up.
I can't believe what I'm hearing some people stating! Because it's an inconvenience to wait for a ride, you drive drunk instead! Message me, and I'll give you my phone number so I can pick you up in the middle of the night or to let me know when NOT to drive! My dad's best friend died the night before his wedding (with his fiance) due to a drunk driver. The drunk driver survived. Despite the statistics making up a low percentage of the student population, it's still a number involving INNOCENT victims. I don't care if you drink, but do it responsibly. I'm still in college, and I really do not understand why people brag so heavily in getting drunk.
JConner, I agree with your comment on how ridiculous some of these t-shirts are. Having to wear a t-shirt stating that you drink a lot? Come on, everyone knows that the vast amount of college students drink anyway. I think there has only been one or two t-shirts from JoeCollege where I actually don't find it offensive to someone.
Brittany, while I may not agree with everything you stated about Lew Perkins, I appreciate your letter. Thank you for speaking up.
Ian, I agree with you in respects to getting the message out to students about the election and the candidates. While I do believe the Daily Kansan could definitely do something to help out with this issue, I also believe that the candidates themselves could do something about it. For instance, I cannot remember if there was an election this year or last year, but I remember people actually walking down Jayhawk Blvd. informing students about the candidates. That was a dramatic change in comparison to previous elections where I didn't know there was even an election coming up. Sidewalk chalk just doesn't do the trick.
If I were a St. Louis Blues fan, I would be embarrassed for my goalie who couldn't distinguish a long, red carpet on white ice. Must have mixed it up with the center red line.
Did you know that those cluster of cells in the first four weeks are in the shape of a brain, a spinal cord, and a beating heart? If you still call that a fetus, then I don't know what you call a human being!
Did you also know that your brain is continuing to develop until you turn the age of 25? In that case, anyone should have the right to kill anyone under the age of 25, because technically, they are still a fetus according to your definition since the human brain stops developing around this age.
Em1 - being a Christian myself, I do not state that I want abortion to be "safe, legal, and rare" as you had mentioned. I don't want it performed at all! I think you need to take a look at this website below to see how an abortion is carried out. It's far too graphic for me to write on here! I just want to know how you consider these procedures safe for a woman?
City approves students' downtown hot dog stand
Why pay when you can go to the hot dog house over by the Hawk? They're free! Of course they only hand them out on Friday nights.
