I've recently started watching this documentary called Supernatural that's been going on for five seasons now, about these ghost hunters who travel the country. They have very scientific apparatus. They have a little machine that makes noise and lights up when there's a ghost, and another thing with green lasers so they can see where a ghost has been. It's really a very educational show.
"Can anyone in fact tell me why these people should be paid to write in the paper?"
Oh, oh, I know! Because it makes good economic sense! Also, because without paying them, you might see something like a paper full of "The Best of Pantheon Comments". Quiver in fear, worm.
"an old, failed method of energy production" Except, you know, in France. Where it's three fourths of their power supply. Oh those silly, backwards, foolish French. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_...
I think you already established that the presence or absence of a two-parent (and probably two-income) household is a significant factor on a child's future poverty and health. What you haven't established is the effect of MARRIAGE ON CHILDREN. I don't have any, and I could honestly give a crap less about them, but if people want to make laws to screw with my marriage, then they're affecting ME, not my nonexistent children. Just because you want to believe that marriage itself is a major factor in the well-being of children doesn't mean that it is. On a side note, clearly you are not familiar with the dog drinking from the sprinkler.

Proposed cuts would limit Kansan's budget
“This is my time to do what I think is right,” Heilman said.
I wish it had been his time to do what he thought was right last year during the elections. Speaking of which:

You know who that is? That's the person that most people I talk to know as "The crazy Ron Paul guy"
And he has more sense than the Kansan staff did.
