Why should the images be censored? Regardless of how they are displayed or used, they are images that show the honest, actual result of abortion procedures. I get the feeling that the majority of KU students are uncomfortable seeing them. If they help take students' concepts of abortion out of a nice comfy, academic, philosophic realm and into reality, they do their job, however crudely.

This isn't such a bad article. I'm sure a lot of KU students aren't familiar with the concept of usage based billing, however old it really is. Not everyone is a CS major.

"Students can work up a sweat at recreation center."

Only they just can't do it in a pool. Seriously, what Div. 1 University doesn't have a fully functional pool available to students? Also, by fully functional, I don't mean open three of the least convenient hours of the day and in another building. I was previously at Oklahoma State where they had both an indoor and outdoor pool. One or both was always available from 6 in the morning till 10 at night. How can this not be a top priority for the recreation services? Here is a novel idea: Create some work study positions for young students who worked as lifeguards in high school. Next, employ them to staff the existing pool and keep it available all day! Is that so hard? Can someone explain to me why it has never been done?

"If you pee and it burns you’re like, ‘Oh f*ck, what do I have.’”

Are you kidding me?

Also, I like that the comment section of UDK bans the word f*ck, but it's used in the story.

Why do we continue to demonize energy companies that are trying to supply us? In the end, it’s going to be companies like BP, ConocoPhillips, and Texaco that are going to be developing and providing these new sources of energy. What they are REALLY doing is making sure that we aren't living back in the 1800s tomorrow when the electricity is shut off. How many of you could barely function the other night without electricity for 3 hours? The cold, hard fact is that coal works...right now, today. Wind turbines are great, and I'm all for them, once the technology is worth installing. Does anyone in western Kansas have 47,000 square acres of land to spare? That’s how much land it’s going to take right now to put in a wind farm that even approaches the MW capacity of just ONE of these coal plants.

Instead, what does the author propose? Let the government (we all know how effective they are) help subsidize some un-profitable, green "initiatives" in Kansas to give struggling Kansans an alternative source of revenue and jobs to that which these plants would certainly provide. I mean, that worked last time, right? Ethanol is great! Very efficient.

While the sensible people are building coal plants, let’s start building nuclear ones too. Then we'll have real sources of energy to last while we develop alternative sources.

STOP with the anti-gun rants already. Doesn't the UDK have a backlog of sensationalist abortion articles or something about gay marriage or coal plants they can publish instead?

"Some people have ignored the reasons behind immigration, letting their biased views get in the way."

I understand the reasons why immigrants want to come to the United States. I am dealing first-hand with immigration issues myself. What most Americans resent is that the U.S. government seems to have no control over its own borders. Look up the word "sovereignty" and see if the current geopolitical situation meets that definition.

Should the U.S. massively overhaul its immigration policy? Yes. Should we vilify those who recognize the fundamental need for the U.S. to secure its own sovereign territory for the purpose of effectively managing this policy? Absolutely not.
