First off, I would like to say how excited I am to be unbanned. Especially in light of the right direction the Kansan is taking, whether voluntarily or involuntarily. I comment often on stories on the site, because it fills a role as community. It actually is an intersection of two communities I happen to be a member of, KU and the internet.

A while back I was banned, maybe for a reason maybe not (nobody every told me that I was banned or what for) and that was sad. It was also a little creepy, as what happened from my side of the screen is that I was logged in and commenting. On the other side of the screen, not only could people not see the comments from after my ban, but any I had ever made, or that I was even a site user. My entire presence on the site was erased. By the power of Greyskull, I returned.

I recall last year I was accused of being a coward, hiding behind anonymity, etc. I don't recall what that was in response to, but I would like to say that I chose this user-name for a reason: it matches my KU user-name. If you type in "pantheon@ku.edu" into the people search, Anthony Whaley pops up. That is my name. Certainly, I don't have a facebook account and that's probably a little atypical of my fellow KUians and my demographic, but you can still contact me at my email if you want to come yell at me. If you're above the drinking age, we can even have a beer summit.

I am what my wife calls "snarky" and try to make it transparent. Unfortunately, there is a limit to my ability to communicate via words alone and that is sad. If you want clarification on something I said, let me know. Otherwise, just accept that my assertion that "All women are inferior to men because they have fewer teeth" is facetious. I am glad that there is a KU blogs-type place, though I was hoping for forums, and I was hoping for a KU ID linked forum. Either way, I am very happy to be here and will continue to post and comment until I am banned again.
