Beer for Breakfast

A whole new world

Clearly, the redesign is based on LJWorld's design. That's lovely. But I sometimes "profile" people by looking at their old comments. The old method was to go to their user page and click on a link that said something like "show all comments from this user". Now, if you go to, for instance, Vladislav's user page, you get nothing. Well, I mean, you can leave a comment (shades of Facebook walls) but no link to find out more about the fellow, just empty fields of information. It turns out, it's as easy as adding comments to the end of the address. So http://www.kansan.com/users/vladislav/comments takes you to a place to check out his (classic) comments. Maybe he'll put out a greatest hits album someday.

Secondly, I noticed immediately after posting my first entry in this blog that it has the same "feature" as the LJWorld blogs, namely that it forgets when I started a new paragraph. The formatting still exists when looking at the saved copy for editing, but to display the paragraphs you need to use the HTML tag for paragraph, which is p, or P if you do the caps thing. If you are confused about HTML, you should use "the google" and find yourself a quick explanation.

I glossed it over before, but it took me some time to find the profile editing option here, because I am not the smart. What you want to go to is http://www.kansan.com/accounts/profile/edit/ and put yourself a nice picture up, your hometown (which is always of interest to your fellow students) and maybe a nice sentence or two about how much you love KU.

This may already be fairly clear, but if you have a LJWorld account, almost anything related to your account that follows the www2.ljworld.com can be put after www.kansan.com to similar effect here. Explore your options.

If you missed it when you were blog browsing (or got here another way) when you go to blogs there's a "create blog" link. Let's get some public dialogue going.
