Recently, someone mentioned that they felt the Kansan might have too strong an attachment to the KU Athletics Department Incorporated. The next day, a new editorial appeared in the Kansan suggesting that we should move on and forget that our basketball and football teams displayed what might be considered "unsportsmanlike conduct" as well as one of the most visible players being suspended for Driving Whilst Influenced.
It seemed to me that while his choice of names indicated a preference for lame players, KUChiefsFavreFan might have a point. The Kansan does have half its space dedicated to sports, and as you may have recently noticed has launched a new "magazine" called The Wave (look, it's right up there) in case you don't get enough sports in your paper. While I appreciate several sports on campus, the women's volleyball team clearly does not receive the type of exposure that the football and basketball teams do. Okay, that last part was a lie. I don't care about sports.
I care about other stuff. But this piqued my interest.
