This week’s New Music Monday features a couple new albums from prominent artists, including Bruce Springsteen and Ty Dolla $ign, as well as a new single from Zedd. To check it all out, head to our most recent Spotify playlist.
“Letter to You” by Bruce Springsteen
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are back with another album, and they did not miss.
For Springsteen lovers, this album is a throwback to his classic sound, whether you’re listening to “Janey Needs a Shooter” or the title track, “Letter to You.”
While it is not Springsteen’s best, this album veers away from American politics, instead serving its purpose as a homage to everyone Springsteen has befriended along his career.
“Featuring Ty Dolla $ign” by Ty Dolla $ign
Despite a star studded list of guest appearances, Ty Dolla $ign’s latest album is mostly forgettable.
“Featuring Ty Dolla $ign” is a lot of the same, and with 25 tracks, the standout songs like “Track 6” are quick to get lost in the crowd. Had Ty Dolla $ign opted for a shorter album, “Featuring Ty Dolla $ign” may have received more praise.
“Inside Out” by Zedd featuring Griff
On Zedd’s newest single, he brings his signature pop sound with the help of female vocalist Griff.
Though “Inside Out” does not match “Clarity” or “Stay the Night,” the hook and bass drop make for a playful dance anthem that would fit perfectly in the basement of your next post-coronavirus fraternity party.
