Ending Jan. 25, locals still have time to make the most of Lawrence Restaurant Week, an eight-day celebration of the city's best eateries.

Encore Cafe, Ta Co. and RPG are among the 37 restaurants participating in the sixth annual downtown Lawrence restaurant week. The event features special deals and exclusive menu items. The culinary experience lasts from Jan. 17 through Jan. 25.

The 23rd street location of Goodcents sandwich shop is closed, but the restaurant opened a different location in Lawrence on Bob Billings and Kasold the following day.

After 13 years operating on Massachusetts Street, 1856 Bar and Grill has officially closed its doors. The owners of the business will rent the space to Moose McGuire’s Pub and Grill, which is set to open in March of this year.
