Many faculty members have left KU for other universities within the last year due to KU's handling of diversity, equity and inclusion. Despite a re-organization of DEIB units on campus last December, KU faculty is pushing for more change. 

The University of Kansas will not use the controversial Kansas Board of Regents policy that would allow for tenured faculty to be terminated in order to relieve financial pressures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Chancellor Douglas Girod told the Board of Regents Thursday.

A select group of KU students from campus advocacy groups and student government met via Zoom with KU Provost Barbara Bichelmeyer on Friday to discuss the reorganization of the Office of Diversity and Equity, now called the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. Bichelmeyer is under scrutiny after two employees were fired in the reorganization.
